The College of Arts and Sciences of MSU Buug
The College of Arts and Sciences of MSU Buug is an integral part of the campus because it provides a comprehensive education that encompasses a wide range of disciplines such as ethics, understanding self, humanities, social sciences, natural sciences and mathematics which develop critical thinking, creativity and deeper understanding of the world around them. The CAS encourages students to explore interdisciplinary approaches, hence, develop problem solving skills among students. It is the forefront of molding researchers and innovators while embracing diversity and inclusivity among its learners. It shall assist other colleges and units of the campus in coordinating their courses of studies with the basic discipline of general education. By shaping a well-rounded professional, the CAS prepares students to navigate the complexities of the modern world and make meaningful contributions to society.
Goals
To capacitate faculty members to achieve teaching excellence in arts and sciences;
To produce quality student and teacher researchers responsive to the needs of the society;
To produce proficient professionals who are indispensable to nation-building;
To mold students and faculty members to be duty-sensitive for the community; and
To instill among students and faculty members the essentials of culture and gender sensitivity and peace advocacy.
Objectives
To support faculty development programs, upgrade teaching resources and improve teaching environment;
To strengthen the research skills of the students and faculty members by requiring them to conduct, present and publish researches in the field of arts and sciences;
To produce efficient language users both verbal and written, compassionate health care providers/practitioners and peace builders;
To involve both faculty and students in addressing the community demands for literacy, health promotion and diseases prevention; and
To inspire students and faculty members to embrace the principle of oneness despite diversity.
